India played their Semi-Final against New Zealand yesterday and sadly lost in the race to enter the World Cup 2019 finals. With the Indian Team out of the World Cup race, a lot of Bollywood celebs took to their social media and showed support to the Indian team. Now, there have been talks about Mahendra Singh Dhoni retiring from international cricket and now his ardent fan and Nightingale of Bollywood Lata Mangeshkar has asked him to reconsider retirement.

Fans of MS Dhoni fear that it might have been the last they saw of him and that he could announce his retirement any time soon which includes Lata Didi. He found a supporter in Lata Mangeshkar as she recently took to Twitter to support the Indian team after yesterday’s match. In a heartfelt Tweet, the singer requested former skipper, MS Dhoni, to consider not taking retirement as the team needs him. She wrote, “Namaskar M S Dhoni ji. Aaj Kal main sun Rahi hun ke Aap retire hona chahte hain. Kripaya aap aisa mat sochiye.Desh ko aap ke khel ki zaroorat hai aur ye meri bhi request hai ki Retirement ka vichar bhi aap mann mein mat laayiye.@msdhoni”

Bharat Ratna Awardee, Lata Mangeshkar is not very active on social media. She rarely tweets about anything and only ever expresses her opinion on special occasions. This heartwarming gesture only goes on to prove that she really wants to see him continue playing as a part of the Indian cricket team. This must be really humbling for Dhoni and we can’t wait to see if he responds to her.
